Find woodworking plans for Internet freedom Gone are the days of toil for hours designing your next masterpiece of carpentry. The power of thank you to the Internet and the generosity of our fellow woodworkers, there are thousands of free maps you can download instantly to get your start your next woodworking project. These are not only low quality simplistic plans that are available. You can download the plans for everything from furniture novelties, toys for children, to complement the tree house plans.
downloadable plans include detailed plans, often including metric and imperial, photos, lists of materials and sometimes even videos to show you exactly how to get there. These plans can be easily printed on your printer and use immediately. If you have plans for dirty work, you can easily print out replacements as often as you want.
Find your plan
As a concrete example. My wife is itching for me to build a swing for the court. We have a pretty wooded garden back and she would like a swing out there to enjoy the evenings in. I open Google and search for free "plans wooden swing court." On 452,000 results came back, I found interesting from a site called FreePorchSwingPlans.com. Low and behold, it comes from what I'm looking and comes with everything I need to get started on my project swing:
- Materials List
- Models used to cut wood
- Detailed instructions with photos of the measured Assembly
If for any reason that this set of plans do not work for me, there are many others that I can download and view.
Search Maps
As you can see, find plans on the Internet is a snap. Open your favorite search engine and search for "free wood plans," or you can get more specific and search for something like "free wood plans for beginners" or "Free Treehouse Plans." Remember the more specific you can be, the better your search results will give you what you need. Do not worry about being too specific, woodworking in particular, has many fans that there are pages available to suit any search term. If for any reason, you are too specific, you can always change your search term and try again. Go ahead, give it a try now ... open a new browser window and try searching for some plans. Download Plans
Once you find the perfect set of plans, they will probably be available in one of two ways .... or as a downloadable PDF file or just the designs that you print directly from the screen. If plans are downloadable as a PDF file, you will need to click on the link that says something like "download plans here." Save the file to your hard drive somewhere, you can find it later. To open the file you will need the free Adobe Reader. Chances are it is already installed on your computer, but if not, you can download from the Internet easily. Just go to your favorite web browser and search for "Download Adobe Reader.
If plans are designs that you can print directly from the site, go ahead and print each frame and / or available page so that you will later. It is also a good idea to bookmark the page where you found the plans. If you lose the plans later, you can quickly return to the right page if you have favorites.
