Small Log Homes

Small Log HomesHow will this wood we need for our little log house (995 square feet) this winter?

We do not want to run the oven at all and a wood stove with a blower. Besides, I do not really know how much a cord. We've been cutting wood for weeks.

It varies so much because of weather and how your home is insulated and how your doors and windows. Our house is 1200sq ft. We burn about 3 cords to complete the heating season in Michigan we do not allow the house to go a little cold at night to save wood. 3 full string is equal to a 4 ft high pile is 72 feet long.

We had a store of wood in our basement last year's heated the whole house. 1400 sq. ft. We used 11 strings. But we liked it really hot. I would say that if you had ropes from July to August you might be beautiful and will remain more, but you should not miss. Cutting wood is a great exercise. You'll really enjoy the rewards!

Depending on the type of wood you use. Some burn fast and hot, while others (hard wood) to burn for much longer periods. Example: 6 agreements oak, ash 10 agreements

There are too many variables for someone to give you an exact answer, but I'd be very surprised if you used less than 3 or 4 strings and it will probably be more. A cord is a stack of wood 4'x4'x8. I hope you do not intend to burn the wood from trees that came down this summer. It will not dry enough yet.
