Serviced Offices CardiffRicky Gervais: The Voice of the Jilted Generation Office

First broadcast in 2001, the Bureau took only two more seasons with a special Christmas. The premise of the show was simple: put in Slough - gray, dreary satellite town of London is not renowned for its beauty, the show followed the daily working lives of employees Wernham-Hogg, a company paper fiction which slogan is "Where life is stationery."

The show was filmed in fake documentary style (known as false documentary), coinciding with a number of documentaries on real jobs in Britain that were broadcast both as' airport 'and' A Life of Grime.

It was the incredible realism of the Office that such a hit with viewers, nearly everyone could relate, at least to some extent, to the drudgery of office life and the various characters such as David Brent (played by Ricky Gervais, co-author of the show). Brent is the CEO and head of the Slough branch, it is immature, young and sarcastic - but in his mind, he's cool, popular and hilarious. Much of the humor of the series comes from Brent social faux pas - like his unconscious racism and sexism.

The Office shares some features with the 1999 cult hit movie Office Space - in productions that focus on the banal and unsatisfactory nature of mundane office jobs, and even the office made a subtle nod office space in its reference to a former employee of Wernham-Hogg goes by the name of Peter Gibbons - the name of the main office space.

The Bureau met with massive critical acclaim in the United Kingdom, which then led to other versions of the program being in different countries, the most famous of the U.S. version, but also in France (Le Bureau) Quebec, Canada (The Job) and Germany (Stromberg). The German producers of Stromberg originally claimed they had created the spectacle of an independent Board, it was only after the BBC threatened with legal action and credit undisclosed financial agreement has been concluded with Gervais and co-writer Steve Merchant.

The secret of the success of the Office is that it sums up life for employees both in the United Kingdom. From Cardiff office cubicles equipped offices in London , the Bureau seems to have fully grasped many of the undesirable aspects of workplace fun more common in the population of Great Britain.
