I want them to move around the office of Milton Keynes to Birmingham? I work for a company based abroad who has set up a small branch of the United Kingdom. I only started a few weeks ago. It is an office of two people and we do not really walk in customers, primarily telephone and internet.
The thing is they have put the office in Milton Keynes. The directors of overseas brief visit to the United Kingdom and they said it was because they MK and it is fairly central. We are very costly furnished offices.
The thing is both me and the lady working there live in the Midlands. She gets to see her husband on weekends and rents a small room here. I'm commuting (2 hours round trip and £ 350 per month) to get there (I'm not moving because I do not want to take my child out of school and family lives in the Midlands to help care children, school pickups etc..)
There is no good reason to be MK. Midlands office would be cheaper. and more convenient for both people who work there regularly. Birmingham is as central as MK (even more) in one United Kingdom.
How can I convince them to move? I do have some authority, but I know I'm still new.
It is not clear the position of the company. I usually associate with features of the new company and that the decision to find the location that does not come easily.
You may need to know who made the decision and the logic behind it. It can be a springboard and once the business is established, it could be taken for a better location. Somehow MK is a better place than London and is close to Luton Airport.
