San Luis Obispo Golf CoursesAvila Beach offers peace Escape Ca
If you're looking or a quiet getaway on the Central Coast of California, in Avila Beach, a charming little piece of sand with comfortable accommodation nearby. Not that children would be undesirable - Avila is a playground for all ages. But the new Avila Village Inn has incorporated this destination a notch or two for those seeking a special romantic getaway beach. The hostel has released the stops to attract couples who want to indulge as much as enjoy the natural beauty of the Central Coast of California. About seven miles north of Pismo Beach on Highway 101 sign directs travelers to Avila Beach by way of a winding road that follows San Luis Creek down into a wooded ravine. About a mile before reaching the beach is Avila Village, a new development with condos, a few shops and next to the creek, the Avila Village Inn. Although not really on the beach, wooded area of the inn property gives a quiet, secluded feel. The developers of the hotel use the word "refined" to describe the many details and amenities that were built in the 30 rooms. And our impression is that, in fact, this is one of those inns where you can enjoy the taste of luxury rooms all facing the beach and other natural environments. This property has incorporated many design features now in new high-end homes. wet bars, granite countertops and fireplaces are in each room, while marble is widely used throughout the shower area and bathroom. The king pillow top both look and feel comfortable with pillows, blankets and duvets. We especially enjoyed the spa 103-degree Private awaited us on our balcony Creekside. If you're so inclined, each room or suite has its own DVD player and guests are encouraged to check free DVDs at the reception. They are a bit more active will host the fitness center is just across the parking lot of the inn - perfect for those who work outside of snacks, pastries and sweets are available in both an invited welcome basket and a basket of breakfast the next day. Other details like tasteful art, mission-style furniture and a large, wide staircase in the lobby all add to a sense of privilege - which, of course, is what it is when you spend considerable sums to enjoy quality time with your loved one. A few minutes on the road from the inn is Avila Beach, a beach half a mile long that is gaining popularity because of its more exclusive, almost Mediterranean. Some hotels are located closer to the beach, next to some stores that are scattered throughout the tiny "downtown" area. There is evidence of new construction that we believe has been made necessary by some leakage of oil in the region, but the beach itself and the businesses along the beach seems unaffected. Avila Beach has three pillars, two of which are public. It's fun to walk to the end of the pier where we enjoyed watching surfers and the fishermen dock, while enjoying the spectacular view of the coastline. There were few visitors enjoying the beach during our visit in January the day of the week. Most people who visit seemed to be either couples or students of Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo area. From what we could see, Avila is perfect to get away from people - although one suspects that might change on weekends and during the summer months. But even with mild 75-degree weather, we always felt like if we had stumbled across a small beach village somewhere unknown in the Mediterranean. It was so empty that it was difficult for us to imagine that more than 28,000 people live in Avila Beach. All we find is that most are living well outside of a few blocks adjacent to the beach. A larger, busier beach is just south of Avila to Pismo Beach. Views of Pismo Beach are spectacular and the beach in the shape of a horseshoe seems to stretch for miles and miles.
