Retirement Lodges

Retirement LodgesPlaying the piano for the elderly, it is good song choices?

I work as a waitress in a retirement lodge, and there is a piano in the beautiful dining area. I would like to perhaps play a song for them while they eat, but am not sure what would be a good thing. I want something the residents can recognize. So what are the most popular songs back then?

Frank Sinatra. Back to the Rat Pack era and they will love it.

puttin on the Ritz

or old TV themes

Look for songs that were on the cards in the 40's-50's

I work in a day care center executives and they like these when we do

Fur Elise
Moonlight Sonata
Blues Classical perhaps - Feelings, Careless Whisper ..

Thing you memories of Ol 'days, not painful, like WW 2 or racism, but you know, disco, etc.

Hmm ... What about Edelweiss? Fur and Elise. These are good songs. Also Heart & Soul ... my mother is that for me, from time to time (she learned when she was little girl, and she is old now). They are good songs.

Fa¼r Elise by Beethoven! =]

Think of classic songs that are easy, but hard on the ears.
