What tax software should I buy? I want to do my own taxes this year and they seem to be relatively simple. I work full time with a pension and a 401k from a previous work which had no additions or withdrawals this year. I'm single, do not own a house and have no children. I live in a state where I need to file the report. I filed with H & R Block in the past, but do not want to pay $ 120 + for a single return. I would like to use a software or online preparation.
Should I go with TurboTax or H & R Block at home? Is the basic or deluxe version to better respond to me, the IOA? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I like TurboTax and have used for many years. Stick with the simple version, you do not need to pay extra for things you do not need. I worked for H & R Block in the past for about 5 years and their software I tried, but I really like TurboTax. You will have no problem, but the purchase of the state add-on if your state has a difficult return. In Connecticut, I do not buy the add-on status. I just go on the site ... http://www.ct.gov/drs/cwp/view.asp?a=143 free to prepare and transmit After the return of the State to fulfill the federal return .
Good luck!
