This is a quote from the site for the village of Boston Beacon Hill, not a place, but an organization. Established in 2001, its members consist of a group of people experiencing Decison relocation to retirement communities. They loved their house and were looking for an alternative to travel, but they need a safe place that provided the services they need.
For a non-profit tax of $ 600 per year for individuals and $ 850 for household memberships, Beacon Hill Village offers its members many services they receive in a retirement community. The Plus membership program subsidizes memberships for those who are unable to pay the regular fare. Also depends on Beacon Hill funding of various grants and independents. Many services are provided by a group of dedicated volunteers.
Types of services offered at Beacon Hill Village include:
- Guidance and Information
- Grocery shopping walking, gardening, dogs, house sitting, housekeeping, minor, tax expert, the list is long.
- Walking Groups
- Classes of exercises such as Tai Chi and Stretching
- The members only events and programs
- Discounts for different service
- Walking to and from doctor's visits or other races
Basically, you name they have. If this is not something they offer, they will try and find out how to get it. If you need a bulb changed or an image attached, it is all covered under their concierge service.
You do not have to live in Beacon Hill to join, as they also service the Back Bay, West End and surrounding neighborhoods. The minimum age for members is 50, but most are in their early 70s. They are, however, are beginning to see more baby boomers in their composition.
