Can anyone give me references for relocation services for pets? I need to move my dog to Portland or New York City. For reasons difficult to explain, I would like to explore using a relocation services for pets ... But how to choose? Can anyone give advice?

There is a link for the relocation company. Or find your local branch of human society, they are always willing to help someone in these situations.
Pets Delta would be your best bet. There are other services that drive your pet, but it would cost you a couple grand. According to the size of your dog, Delta airlines would be cheaper and I trust them.
There are weather restrictions, and you would need a veterinary health certificate within 10 days after the flight.
