How radon tested? As regards the process of radon? I do not know how the radon test yourself, I just want to know how it is tested. Sorry if this sounds a bit harsh I do not know how to say otherwise.
There are several test methods:
The screening test at low cost capture decay products of radon in the air with a sponge impregnated activated carbon. Radon amount is calculated based on the exposure time.
Test out of the house is a disk of metal foil in a sealed compartment. The disc is marked by emissions from the radioactive decay of radon and the amount is calculated on the basis of the damage on the disk.
There is also a continuous testing that inspectors for home use. It is essentially a high precision digital Geiger counter.
they have a device that tests the air and registers the presence and level of radon in the areas where it is known to accumulate ie basements, attics etc.
