Does anyone know what the minimum space are office workers? I am trying to determine, according to an official standard (OSHA, fire code, etc.) what is the maximum number of employees, we can enter into an office space, legally. How much space per person is needed? I've been everywhere on the internet and can not find it.
Someone suggested I look into a maximum occupancy for the fire code. The building that I look at is located in Durham, NC. I can not find a copy of the North Carolina Fire Prevention Code to get some details on this! If you have any official information or survey form, please do tell!
Thank you very much.
Contact the State Fire Marshalls Office (reference). You'll need to give them more details than you have here. The minimum is essentially the width of the table with about 5 feet behind him. 2 feet to move the chair around 3 feet and the side behind the evacuation. It is all that is needed. If a cabin, two feet behind with an entry of two feet out in the escape route is all that is needed.
