PS9000: 2001 Newcastle Benson Group Benson Group, one of the largest UK owned private carton printers, based in Bardon, Leicestershire, announced it has acquired PS9000: 2001 certification in the pharmaceutical industry quality standards for packaging its packaging plant in Benson Group Newcastle.
To achieve this standard, as described by the Pharmaceutical Quality Group (PQG), Institute of Quality Assurance (IQA), Newcastle Benson Group hopes to be able to take advantage of its lower cost base for work long term.
Commenting on the achievement, Mark Kerridge, managing director of Benson Group, said: "We are delighted to have met the standards required by PS9000: 2001 in Newcastle. This accreditation means that we are now able to offer customers additional guarantees security of supply. To be able to offer an "intra-group" disaster recovery plan also provides specific benefits to customers' privacy. "

The news follows the recent announcement regarding the installation of Europe Komori Lithrone SX40 pressed close to the central society Gateshead. The installation included the modernization of Komori presses other facilities in both North-East.
The Pharmaceutical Quality Group (PQG), Institute of Quality Assurance (IQA) has developed PS9000: 2001 in order to provide a widely accepted best practices within the packaging industry pharmaceuticals. It applies ISO9001: 2000 for print and pharmaceutical packaging materials contact.
PS9000: 2001 is based on the AQI and replaces two separate pharmaceutical packaging materials QGP supplier codes of practice (COP) and contact prints. These codes of practice have been first published in 1990, then revised in 1995.
