Buying a vehicle in the U.S. and drive home in Canada? I think buying a new car. The car is listed $ 20,000 cheaper in the U.S. compared to here, in Canada. What are the procedures or things I should consider before you investigate this? Can it be done? If the warranty is not valid in Canada, well forget it.
You must ensure that the car is admissible to Canada by visiting www.riv.ca. There is a list that tells you whether they are or are not allowed. Then think of your shipping charges or if you go to push into account the cost of flying, gas, hotel and food. You will have to pay GST at the border and if the vehicle was not manufactured in Canada or the United States, then you will have to pay as well. If the vehicle is allowed to cross the border and you do not want to worry about all the documents to consider using a broker. They make life a breeze when your at the border! At least the one I used did!
