Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps - Solar Powered Lennox units are now available New for 2010, Lennox began to release their new heat pump and solar product range of air conditioning. Designated as "Sunsource Solar Ready" units, these new heating and cooling are delivered with integrated controls and electronics to allow the homeowner to attach anywhere from 1-15 solar collectors of supply to each unit. However, it is not necessary to use solar energy to power these units Sunsource as they are also able to use the power of your home like all other heat pumps and air conditioners do. This allows the financial flexability installing a heat pump or air conditioning and now add on panels in the future.
In regions further south, with southern exposure right, solar panels can charge the power of almost 300% more than what is necessary to operate the a / c or heat pump. With the addition of the command iComfort / thermostat, the excess power collected by solar panels can be reintroduced into the electrical system of your home. The excess power could even be sold to the grid of your electricity supplier (if service is offered in your area) to further reduce the monthly costs from your utility.
