Land Title Transfer

We paid off the land of my step-daughter and son, and they told us it was ours. Now, my son and his divorced and he left and we do not know where he is at all. How can we get the title of land on our names. We paid taxes on it for 6-8 years.

If the "children" were divorced, there should be a regulation of property available, which should detail the property on behalf of your step-daughter or her ex-husband (usually accompanied by a disclaimer deed relinquishing interest the other person in the property). If your step-daughter (or perhaps a criminal record) to such documents, it has only interest in the property and can easily transfer them to your name. If you have not done so you will now have to file some form of "quiet title" action against him before a tribunal, which may include publication of the notice and production of evidence in court of the Agreement and your payment . You'll need a lawyer for that.
