How can I get free plans for an addition to the second floor in my house? I'm looking to add two rooms and one bathroom 900sq feet of space.
Take my word .... you can not find free plans. The houses are so different that you would never find something to match your home without knowing the structure on the first level. To get this work done, your local code probably requires formal plans for your home subject to local authority for a permit, which must be stamped by a licensed architect or engineer residential structure. It is a big deal. If you hire a contractor to do the job, there is good liklihood that he / she employs a person authorized in their office, which is your only way around an architectural firm.
