I want to renovate my house, Who should I contact for design plans and estimates? How does the process work? My wife and I recently bought a new house. We want some renovations done to her. But we do not know how. The 1900s Greek revival. We want the outside to keep most of its historic features. However, we want to fit within our sense of style. Is Interior Designers or subcontractors or both? We also need concrete work done for the measurements. How should I approach this?
If you have a very large project and want professional help, you should call an interior designer. If your project is fairly simple and you already know, almost exactly what you want, go directly to a contractor who can help you find a good architect to design plans to be submitted to the city for approval.
If you do not add anything to the foundation or the main structure, your contractor may not require an architectural drawing to submit to the city. You may be able to simply sketch your floor plan and with the changes you want for the contractor to use.
If you do not move walls or change or make major structural changes, then you should not need designers or architects.
However, you might want to get a good interior decorator.
You need someone who specializes in the renovation. I do not know exactly where you live, but I can highly recommend in the southeastern region of Wisconsin is MD Custom Homes and Renovations.

If you need someone else in your are, contact the state or local manufacturers recommendations for the organization.
Blessings on your project!
