Hill Country House Plans

Hill Country House PlansFinding the perfect house plan for your dream home

Whether you just started looking for a HomeSite or already own property to build your house, it's never too early to start looking at house plans for your dream home. Of course, you can always hire an architect to develop plans .. but why? There are literally thousands of house plans available today on the Internet at a fraction of the cost of hiring a designer or Architect.

The volume of choices can be overwhelming, so how do you narrow your search and find the house of your dreams? Well, you must first know what works for you and your family. Take time before analyzing what is important to you before you start looking.

living space:

First, make a list of different "spaces" that you want. Not necessarily because the rooms often the space requirements can be combined in one piece. For example, in our house we have a bonus room that works as a guest room and stead of the year. A formal dining room could have a hutch office that closes when not in use yet provides privacy "office" work in a room rarely used. If you have a hearty breakfast bar, perhaps using the corner Both breakfast and a comfortable seating from the bar could be more than enough for the unofficial headquarters ..

Think about how you live .. or if you want to live!

If you want a "hang out" area for teenagers, should be isolated or close enough to keep an eye on them? Is he near the kitchen or the kitchen will have its own compact snack teen? same consideration for small children, what works best for them? Or how about "adults only" spaces?

Do you entertain? Are you formal or informal? And do not forget outdoor living spaces, one of the least expensive to develop your life. Do you like the ease of a story or prefer a separation of life as a house of two floors offer? Remember Storage. Consider what type of storage you want both inside the house and garage.

It is also important to write what you do not want:

I could write a book on what not to do with the house plans. I'll start with my first pet peeves, bathrooms. The number one "no no" in my opinion, is to have a view directly from the bathroom, especially as you enter the house. Bathrooms are intended to be private. Make sure your plan considers that. You also want to ensure there are adequate facilities for the size of the house. Note - Do not build a home of 3000 + square feet less than three bathrooms.

Similarly even think before they build a big house with only a two-car garage. What about the right of the master bedroom to the kitchen or living room? I can not tell you how aggravating it is to have someone trying to relax while someone else is in place and the pots in the kitchen sounds. Where do you want the laundry room? Many plans are essentially a laundry portion of the garage to the kitchen. Do you agree with this or do you prefer a separate laundry?

Consider the style of the house:

Be sensitive to the tone of the neighborhood and build a home that enhances rather than distracts. If you live in an area with old colonial houses, a house in Texas Tuscan keep as a sore thumb. It is normal to bring your own unique quality of your home, just take the environment into account.

Author's Note:

I hope this article gives you some fresh ideas. After fifteen years and more in the construction industry, I think the cutting of the house is equally important is building the house.
