Ge Home Warranty

I used to have a guarantee of my refrigerator, but it expired last year about, would it be possible to obtain an extended warranty now?
I intended on buying a warranty online by General Electric (the company that made the refrigerator), but do you know if they actually home to see if the refrigerator is currently "working condition" prior to warranty is effective? b / c my ice and water dispenser not working and I need some repairs: [

I do not think you can do this. It's a bit like trying to buy auto insurance after you have an accident. I suppose we could try, but do not be surprised if they say no.
