Best Retirement Communities in Florida? I have a step-son severely disbled adults living with my wife and I are interested in retiring in Florida and want to know what are the best retirement communities in Florida that are accessible to good health care?
We are not golfers but as a condo with a community recreation center and pool. My step-son is in a wheelchair so we need a ranch-style condominium floor.
What are good areas that match our needs?
What are the names of some good retirement community condominium / that meet our needs in these areas?
How much should I expect to pay for living in a non-golf-oriented condominium in Florida?
I agree with other stakeholders. The Villages is a retirement community great. I live about 20 minutes away. I am only 21 but I decided that I want to retire there. There is always something to do there, and you can get almost anywhere in television (villages) of golf cart, which is the preferred mode of transportation there.
They have a very good hospital, and many good doctors and specialists across the television.
I'm not sure television has all the condo type places, but I know there are many types of communities in the villages. If you call the number they are welcome TheVillages.com very useful there.
This is a very golf-oriented place, but there are many other things to do than golf.
One last thing, television is a very expensive place to live. People who retire there quite comfortable. It can be pretty descent for all they have to offer, but to me that you pay a pretty penny to live.
I recommend taking a free guided tour of the television, and talk with people Welcome Center, they are most useful.
GOOD LUCK
It is a place called "village about an hour north of Orlando, which is nothing but a big huge retirement community. It has been specifically designed for this purpose and many residents drive golf carts around the city rather than use a car. They also have their own hospital, which was probably very good business! You do not have to be in golf. There are several communities to choose from. You can find more info on www.thevillages.com. Good luck.
