Can someone please give me a rough idea of property prices in different cities of New Zealand? Could someone please give me a ballpark figure for a decent price on the property in the following areas:
Auckland, Wellington, Queenstown, Dunedin, Nelson .. or any other location that are recommended!
.. IM from the UK and will work in New Zealand to live next year. I have a friend who worked for the past three years and we believe that, as the price of real estate (Im sure they have a little bit cheaper than here in the United Kingdom!), We can invest in property between us. Obviously depend on the weather we could afford or no but! .. A point to note is that we will both be working in Auckland but we know that Auckland is probably the most expensive place to buy because a lot of people living there then also asked if there areas recommended a decent price to buy to let ... then we could for example buy a house in the south of the island and continue to work in Auckland while we rent.
Any info or advice what so ever would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you to all who respond in advance!
I am a little confused, but
Average house prices in May 2008
Auckland - $ 330k - 742k (varries by neighborhood)
Hamilton - $ 337,000
Wellington average - 310k - 535k (varries by neighborhood)
Nelson - $ 321,000
Christchurch - 260k - 510k (varries by neighborhood)
Dunedin - $ 245,000
Queenstown - $ 540,000
Well .. if you can afford to Wellington or Auckland ...
Auckland is the fifth best city in the world for quality of life.
And Wellington is 12!
But I have a beautiful house in Wellington, with 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and large living areas and on, and the pleasant suburb of the city and what is not. I think it's worth like 400k, at most - if my mom esteem. My aunt (also from the United Kingdom!) Bought an apartment in New Lynn, Auckland. Its proximity to the city, St Lukes (mall), etc. supermarket. It has 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and I think it overlooks the road and the suburbs, she has spent in the 400k!
Although the only thing I love about Auckland is how his great and greater things to do, then Wellington. But I perfe Wellington people and houses.
Do you mean you have to work in Auckland? or are you able to work elsewhere. Sorry I can, t help buy to rent, but I have no knowledge of it!
