Is it a guarantee of the house is worth? I passed the one year in my new house, and the warranty. I discussed renewing the warranty, but I'm on the fence.
My house is about 22 years, a lot of new equipment (refrigerator, dishwasher, washer, dryer, oven) with only a really old air conditioner and heater may be going to cause problems.
The assurance of renewal is about $ 600, with a fee of $ 90 per visit billed services. I called twice this year, one time it was not covered (money belt), the second time it took 3 visits to fix one little thing.
Anyone have an opinion on this? If I knew they would cover any incident that I would not hesitate, but after reading consumer reports on the company I'm really hesitant.
Do not waste your money on him. They are generally not worth it.
Clara, if your system is installed the original in 1984, then he is 25 years, is about 10 years, the life of a heat pump. He is suspended. Before you renew, check the contract details and see if there is a "replacement" provision on the HVAC system, if not then they only pay for tinkering with a system of 25 years, n is not a good deal.
Are you a "very practical" person? If not, then I would, but if you are I would not.
As the owner ages new home to me, I'm not renew mine when it expires. There is so much easier to make repairs or purchases on mine. (My house is 23 years ... no problems found yet!).
Instead of insurance, to $ 500 each year and store it. When the furnace, water heater, etc. fails, use the money saved to pay for repairs.
I bet that in ten years you have $ 2,500 to $ 4,500 in the fund.
I will never buy a home warranty. The last time I did the company refused to renew after they had to pay for repairs. The service charge has increased each year. The list of questions they would not cover increased each year and they are looking for reasons to refuse to pay for a repair. The service staff they use are the lowest cost, regardless of their reputation. I checked the BBB for their people and service are multiple complaints, and almost none of them were members of the BBB. Do not waste your money. Make money $ 800 (annual fee as well as two service calls) and put it in the bank, reserved for repairs.
