Anyone familiar with 1 / 2 inch Australian Cypress hardwood? Please help!? Come to buy hardwood flooring 1/2-inch Australian Cypress. My husband plans to do himself, but we're not sure what method to use glue down, nail or staple. Any suggestions?!
Australian cypress hardwood is a good choice because it has natural oils that termites do not like, as regards the laying of floors if you have a concrete floor, you'll need to set the folds of wood, then attach of floors it, if its to the floor joist of wood I would use both methods of glue and nails, and the cypress tongue and groove, I nail this secret, it means you set the nail in language floor panel is not the throat, of course, then slide the next piece and so on, this way you do not see the nail holes and you do not have to fill nail holes when you're ready for polishing, to leave at least 1 / 2 inch or more difference between the walls to expand and your baseboard will cover more than this gap. I hope this helps good luck, I am a carpenter by trade.
Nail down the wood always seems to work best. It allows the wood to expand and contract better than to stick it down. However, because you have half wood rather than three quarters, you'll need an adapter for the nailer to accommodate small thicknesses.
