Exploring Native American ruins
You can plan a vacation together in Arizona ranging from ruins in ruins, but if you are visiting Phoenix and you have only one day, remember to drive for about an hour and a half north on I-17 Montezuma Castle, a five-story, a cliff dwelling of the 12th century that was once the home of the Sinagua people. It's a short hike on a 1/3-mile loop trail, where you have a magnificent view of the castle. If you have time, drive 11 miles north and visit Montezuma's Well, where you can see a natural sink hole and small houses built in the steep walls surrounding the hole. A sinkhole may seem like a big yawn, but it's really an interesting place to visit.
Shopping
If you go to Arizona for shopping, then you probably want to head to Scottsdale, the vacation home of luxury, upscale shopping, art galleries and shops of 5th Avenue.
