I also like the look of an open floor plan, but a bit like having a dining room (not a necessity, though). Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

When we asked about a specific design or building in general, we obtained a excellent customer service. Here is a link to the home page and resources.

In my city, Menard (similar to Lowe's, Home Depot) have great books chained near the area of fencing with plans of houses, garages, etc. .. Find one you like and purchase of these plans.
I buy magazines flat ground. They are available at most stores magazines and bookstores. They are about $ 5 or $ 6 each, and there are pages and pages of floor plans, usually grouped by Square-footage.
You can get cabins, narrow lot plans, houses under 2,500 square feet, hotels, you name it, there is a book for that. If you find something you really want, you have to pay to buy that plan specifications.
I like the company plans bungalow - they look like dwellings classic modern open floorplans and great storage! Explore the Winslow, which has 3 bedrooms plus a master suite all on the second floor and a spacious first floor.
