2 Car Garage Plans

My garage is an absolute mess and I can not go into one of my cars in it. I need some plans to organize it, but I need to do it myself. Anyone have plans for how I can do it for a resonable price?

Wiz-We had to build a new house to have a nice room for disabled Shane. My husband built it and was preparing to build our garage for 2 cars. It still draws plans for each and every little detail, because he built himself. When he finally gets his shots I will find a way to get them for you. My first suggestion is to make a big garage sale and get rid of all the things you do not really need or want to use. Size of your garage would be helpful.

I've had the same problem. My wife's car went into the garage and mine sitting outside in the driveway.

Most of the congestion has been a long handle things such as yard and garden tools, shovels, rakes, brooms, etc. that have been backed into a corner and fall all the time, taking more space on the floor.

I put up wall hooks to hang all those on the walls. Huge improvement.

There were also lots of little things, hand tools, boxes of nails, shoes, etc. I sorted - many stood up and the rest went to a cupboard in the basement (j ' I picked up a 3-unit storage shelf with doors @ Menard for 40 dollars and he held all these small things)

There were also a bunch of "average" sized stuff, like paint cans gallon cans of gasoline, tackle boxes, spare tire, 5 gallon pails, etc. I put a bunch of 14 "wide shelf along the wall of a (three of them, more floor space is in the 4 places to put things) and to do everything there.

ALSO, a few years ago I bought a 200 dollar molded plastic storage shed that goes outdoors, some of my bigger stuff is there (patio furniture, chainsaw, weed eater, etc.)

Human nature is to store things on the horizontal spaces (soil, top of freezer, a table that happens to be close, etc.)

large racks "stack" of horizontal surfaces so that they take up less space.
